PET CEMETERY RULES & FEES
Drax Pet Cemetery
The Pet Cemetery was established in 2015 as part of the newly formed Drax Cemetery, operated and managed by the Drax and Newland Joint Burials Board.
You will find peaceful and secluded surroundings for the burial of your pet or your pet’s ashes.
As everyone will have different expectations of what a pet cemetery should look like we advise you look on the website, www.draxcemetery.com or come to see us before deciding on a burial for your pet.
Note that the fees below include visiting rights and grounds maintenance and the right to place flowers close to the pet’s grave. It also includes a temporary marker supplied and installed by the burials board.
It does not include the right to erect a memorial or provide a commemorative shrub.
Ashes
If you have an individual cremation for your pet then the ashes may either be buried in a plot or scattered over the cemetery grounds. There is a memorial area next to the depository where you may install a plaque or leave flowers.
Standard Fees for Ashes
Pet’s ashes may be contained within a suitable container measuring no greater than 300mm x 300mm x 300mm (12ins x 12ins x 12ins).
The fee for burial of the container shall be £30
Pet’s ashes may, alternatively, be scattered over the area designated for pet burial.
The fee for scattering of ashes is £20.
It is the responsibility of the owner to deliver the ashes to the cemetery in a suitable container at the agreed time.
Formal Burials
Pet burials are in marked plots and several pets may share a family plot. It is normally an informal affair but some clients like to add their own personal touches. We are always happy to discuss how you want to proceed.
